Terms and Conditions – Internship Program

1. Overview

  • These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your (“You” or “Candidate”) participation in the Internship Program (the “Program”) which is organized and operated by CFA Society Hong Kong (the “Society” or “We”), KGI International Wealth Management and Optimas Capital Management (collectively, the “Employers”) from May 2025 to August 2025. Please read them carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under the law. By submitting any applications or participating in this Program in any ways, you agree that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms including any additional terms and conditions and any policies referenced herein, available on the Society’s website or available by hyperlink.

2. Application

  • To apply for a role under the Program, you must be capable of entering into a legally binding contract in the country in which you live.
  • You must ensure that the details provided by you to us on application (or at any time) are correct and complete. Failure to provide accurate details may result in your application being rejected.
  • You must inform us immediately of any changes to the information that you provided when applying so that we can communicate with you effectively.

3. Candidates

  • You understand and acknowledge that you will be solely responsible to be legally eligible to work for the Employers in this Program including but not limited to acquiring any visas, and entry permits as required by law.
  • Please see our Privacy Policy for further details regarding your personal information/data. Please note, as set forth in our Privacy Policy, we may contact you periodically in accordance with the terms of our Privacy Policy. In addition, we reserve the right to comply, in our sole discretion, with legal requirements, requests from law enforcement agencies or requests from government entities, even to the extent that such compliance may require disclosure of certain personal information/data. In addition, third parties may retain cached copies of your personal information/data.
  • You understand and acknowledge that all information provided by you including but not limited to your curriculum vitae, and other supporting documents for your application shall be disclosed to the Employers when you apply for a role.
  • You understand and acknowledge that the Employers may retain saved copies of your information and may still have access to your previously submitted applications for a period of time.

4. Our Liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Society is not responsible for the quality, safety or legality of the roles listed, the truth or accuracy of the listings of such roles, the ability of the Employers to offer any job opportunities to the Candidates or the ability of the Candidates to fill the roles and We make no representations about any roles under the Program or curricula vitae submitted by the Candidates.
  • The Society does not represent or guarantee the truthfulness, accuracy, or reliability of the roles in the Program or any other communications posted by the Employers nor do We endorse any opinions expressed by the Employers. You acknowledge that any reliance on material posted by the Employers will be at your own risk.
  • The Society does not endorse or recommend any of the roles, jobs, business or self-employment opportunities and We strongly recommend that prior to entering into any agreement with the Employers, that the Candidates obtain their own independent legal, accounting, financial or taxation advice as appropriate. It is solely the Candidates’ responsibility to evaluate the accuracy, completeness and usefulness of all opinions, advice, services, merchandise and other information provided through our communication materials.
  • Nothing on the Society’s websites and other communication materials shall be considered as endorsement, representation, or warranty with respect to any Employers, whether in regard to its websites, products, services, hiring, experience, employment or recruiting practices, or otherwise.
  • While the Society takes all due care in ensuring the privacy and integrity of the information you provide, the possibility exists that this information could be unlawfully observed by a third party while in transit over the internet or while stored on our systems. The Society disclaims all liability to you to the greatest extent possible pursuant to law should this occur.

5. Indemnity

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Society and its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents, from and against any claims, actions, or demands, including without limitation reasonable legal and accounting fees, alleging or resulting from any information or materials you provide to any of the Employers or your breach of these Terms.
  • The Society shall provide notice to you promptly of any such claim, suit or proceeding.

6. Governing Law

  • These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of Hong Kong.
